This week, in the presence of the Dutch trade delegation for green hydrogen, Impact Hydrogen has launched the Impact Hydrogen Africa Office in Johannesburg, South Africa. As this country is preparing to become a key player in the new global green hydrogen economy, Impact Hydrogen works with stakeholders on Hydrogen Valley development to ensure that green hydrogen unlocks the potential for regional development and local socioeconomic impact.
The office is located in the building of Global Links Corporate Training, with whom Impact Hydrogen signed a partnership agreement. Their mission is to provide practical and effective training solutions for the entire hydrogen value chain and stakeholder ecosystem. Global Links is a strong partner in the education and training sector and will bring our Hydrogen Learning Platform to the market under our Impact Hydrogen Africa brand. Impact Hydrogen develops content based on cutting-edge knowledge from the Dutch Hydrogen Valley experience and the expertise of our partners: technical experts, universities, and vocational training institutions, as well as thought leaders in the green hydrogen sector.
This online platform is designed to play a pivotal role in accelerating the green hydrogen transition: “SustainableHydrogen Valleys need well-educated local staff, across the whole value chain –and this requires accessible and high-quality courses for local SMEs – who often don't have the means to provide their staff with in-company training," says Sharon Becker, Director of Hydrogen Valleys at Impact Hydrogen. The platform will work through a dedicated streaming service and will be available anywhere with internet access.
With the tremendous ambitions of South Africa and some other African countries to become leading players in the global green hydrogen market, expertise and organisation of Hydrogen Valleys are necessary to ensure that producing African regions also benefit. The launch of the Africa office is another step by Impact Hydrogen to ensure we work with the right stakeholders to make a real impact and unlock green hydrogen prosperity for all.
