The development of green hydrogen industrial clusters requires multi-stakeholder engagement and coordination in both the design of the overarching policy framework and its implementation. UNIDO has published guidelines that provide information on this development, fostering dialogue between governments, the private sector, and academia. These guidelines are aimed at supporting the establishment of GHICs by leveraging a versatile and scalable model. Consequently, these clusters will promote the adoption of green hydrogen in local industries, facilitate decarbonisation, and spur the development of new low-carbon industries, all contributing to inclusive and sustainable industrial development and the achievement of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement.
